[recipe adapted from magazine Claudia]
10 chicken drumsticks
½ cup dark soy sauce
5 tbs grape seed oil
2 cups water
3 cm ginger root (finely chopped)
7-8 celery stalks without leaves (1 package)
few celery leaves for garnish – optional
handful peanuts for garnish – optional
1 chicken cube (or none if soy sauce is very salty)
1 kg braeburn or other tangy apples (sliced with apple cutter)
5-6 tbs sweet chilli sauce
½ lemon juice
In a large pot cook chicken with oil and soy sauce for a while.
Add 1 cup of water, cover and cook. In meantime prepare other ingredients.
Pour lemon juice over sliced apples for them not to get brown.
When water is gone from the pot add ginger, peppers and cook some more.
Add another cup of water, apples, chilli sauce, chicken cube and cook covered till chicken and apples are soft.
Serve to the plates, garnish with celery leaves and peanuts.
Serve with rice or mashed potatoes.
Serve 5 people.
