Turnip

Turnip is a root vegetable commonly grown in temperate climates. It has similar pungent flavour to radish and cabbage.
The most common type of turnip is mostly white-skinned apart from the upper part, which protrude above the ground and are purple, red, or greenish wherever sunlight has fallen.

Turnip leaves can be sometimes eaten, there are varieties that are used as leaves only, for instance Chinese cabbage.

Turnips are high in Dietary Fiber, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Folate, Calcium and many more.
