Acacia Honey and Almond Granola
January 22nd, 2009 by MargotINGREDIENTS
750g rolled oats (chunky ones)
12 tbs acacia honey or other mild local honey
6 tbs Carotino oil
200g almond flakes
100g sunflower seeds
EQUIPMENT
two large baking trays lined with non-stick Teflon sheets
METHOD
Combine all ingredients, except almonds and sunflower seeds, together, spread on baking tray and bake in the oven preheated to 150°C (302°F) for about 15 minutes, stirring few times in between. Then stir in also nuts and seeds and bake for another 15 minutes.
Let it cool down before transferring to the storage container. I used cookie tin.
Granola taste good with some milk or natural yogurt and some chopped fresh fruits, such as bananas.
- Add more honey for sweeter taste and more clusters.

Thank you for the comments.
Happy Cook – This is my first granola so I’m not sure, but all ingredients separate can be stored in cupboard for ages so I guess after baking they are even longer lasting.

I’ve got to start making my own granola. Probably could have bought a small car with the amount of money I’ve spent buying it!

Hi Margot
Lovely. And you know, I’ve never made granola. Going to make this at the weekend methinks. Hope life is good.

Lovely recipe and one of literally thousands! What other food product is there that can be added to so many different recipes! Eat honey and feel fitter and healthier by swapping it for sugar and sugar substitutes.
