Measurement Conversions List

Being a couple of ex-pats (Polish & Dominican) living in the UK we used to have constant problems with metric and imperial weights, volumes etc. and created this little measurement conversions list for cooking to help us understand each other.

We hope someone will find it useful as well…

spoons to millilitres & cups

1 pinch = 1 ml
1 tsp (teaspoon) = 5 ml
1 tbs (tablespoon) = 15 ml = 3 tsp
½ cup = 125 ml = 24 tsp = 8 tbs
1 cup = 250 ml

millilitres to ounces

50 ml = 1,76 fl. oz (fluid ounces)
100 ml = 3,52 fl. oz
1 l (litre) = 33.8 fl. oz
2½ l = 84.5 fl. oz
3 l = 101.44 fl. oz

degrees Celsius to Fahrenheit

70°C = 158°F
110°C = 230°F
140°C = 248°F
150°C = 302°F
160°C = 320°F
170°C = 338°F
175°C = 350°F
180°C = 356°F
190°C = 374°F
200°C = 392°F
210°C = 410°F
220°C = 425°F

centimetres to inches

1 in (inch) = 2.54 cm
3 in = 7.62 cm
7 cm (centimetres) = 2.75 in
9 in = 22.8 cm
10 in = 25.4 cm

grams to cups

1 cup plain flour = 125 g
1 cup caster sugar = 200 g
1 cup white sugar = 200 g
1 cup soft brown sugar = 220 g
